Trash Talk: Earth Day 2024 Recap

On the 22nd of April, we held our first Earth Day Trash Talk event via Zoom. Open to everyone, we hosted an incredible lineup of speakers, including Trash Club members and collaborators from around the world. We united as a community with friends old and new, sharing our values, thoughts, practices, and activism for a better future.

Our speakers included Trash Club members, Orsola de Castro, co-founder of Estethica; Kuweni Dias Mendis, diasporic artist based in Australia; Bhaavya Goenka, Trash Club Jaipur Host and Iro Iro founder; Eunice Pais, Trash Club Porto Co-Host and PAIS agency founder; Cassie Quinn, founder of innovative research and development studio CQ; and Chiara Tommencioni Pisapia, designer and researcher. Additionally, we welcomed guest speaker Kate Keara Pelen, co-founder of UAL’s Climate Emergency Network.

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated and joined the event. We came together to discuss and ignite change, working towards a cleaner and kinder world for everyone. Bringing together conscious individuals from all walks of life, the interactions between speakers and audience members were vibrant and engaging, with questions sparking insightful discussions and exchanging ideas.

So many inspiring lessons were learnt and shared. Each speaker brought a unique perspective, addressing topics ranging from sustainable fashion to zero-waste living and climate activism.

Trash Club is excited to continue hosting events that foster dialogue, spark innovation, and drive action towards a cleaner, kinder world. We invite you to join us on this journey by becoming a member of Trash Club and participating in future Trash Talk events. Together, we can make a meaningful impact.
