Residencies
O Rumo do Fumo: 2024 Residency Programme for Dance and Perfroming Artists
The programme supports contemporary artistic creation, stimulating research and development. They have 2 residencies periods from 5-30 August and 30 September - 25 October 2024, in Portugal. The project must be an original work, in its developing stage and each author must have created at least 3 choreography works in a professional context.

Zhuwei Artist Village: Short-Term International Artist in Residency Programme 2024
Zhuwei Artist Village invites international artists who excel in driftwood creation or sewing machine works to propose interactive community and environmental projects. 2 artists over 20 years old will be selected. It is located near an urban area and the natural landscapes of the Tamsui Mangrove Forest, in Taiwan, inviting the artists to experience the area. The residency will last from 15th June to 15th September 2024. Each resident is required to present at least one workshop and an open studio event. Financial support for the residency includes one round-trip economy class international airfare, domestic travel expenses, materials expenses for creation, and a daily living allowance. The residency will also provide accommodation and studio space, access to resources and support to conduct public events.

Villa Sonnenberg: Artist-in-Residence Programme for Professional Artists
Villa Sonnenberg is calling for professionals artists of all practices to apply. The theme of 2025 is InterGerneration; what could a more intergenerational relationship look like? How do other cultures deal with this issue? The residency will last about 3 months throughout 2025. You must be able to speak German, English or French. During the residency, artists will contribute by throwing a public event.

Makers United 2024: Residency for European Makers
Based in Germany, Makers United is calling for European makers to apply for a residency for June this year. Applicants are required to submit a formal application based around an idea or technological concept. Projects of all sorts are welcome, with the main priority being participation, international exchange, networking and community. There will be a fair after the residency, where around 6000 people will visit, which is a great opportunity to build connections. Travel and accommodation will be compensated and there will be a daily maintenance allowance of 50 EUR.

Le Musée départemental de la Céramique à Lezoux: Ceramic Artist Residency 2025
The Ceramic Museum of Lezoux, France, is inviting applications from French and International ceramic artists for a 3 month long residency held in 2025, between January and April. The museum wishes to give artists the opportunity to engage with the craft of original ceramics. Meetings and cultural events will also be organised to raise awareness of contemporary art to the public. An exhibition at the end of the residency will be held in Autumn of that year. The requirements are that applicants can speak French and know how to use ceramic equipment.

COAL Prize 2024
The COAL Prize, based in France, supports artistic projects in progress, aiding its development. 10 projects will be shortlisted from the open call. All applications considered by COAL and the selection committee will become a part of a network of artists and projects, which may be promoted for opportunities and actions carried out by COAL or their partners.

Moving Balkans Contemporary Dance Platform: 2025 Showcase
This is a new dynamic collaboration of dance professionals from across the Balkans, who aim to elevate and position dance within Europe. From this open call, 10 contemporary dance works will be selected to be presented on the first edition of the Moving Balkans Contemporary Dance Showcase, which will be held between 10-13th May 2025. The submissions must be at least 20 minutes in length and the authors must have at least 2 years of professional experience as choreographers.

La Baracca-Testoni Ragazzi: Call for Productions for Children
They are looking for productions to be presented during the next International Festival of Theatre and Culture. It will take place in Bologna, Italy, 7th-17th March 2025. ‘Visioni di futuro, visioni di teatro’ is a meeting for companies, dedicated to the performing arts for early years (0-6 years). Visioni offers a fee of 1000 EUR per performance and basic technical equipment.

Fellowship
The Africa Institute: Tejumola Olaniyan Creative Writers-in-Residence Fellowship 2024
The Africa Institute opens applications for its 3rd cohort of Creative Writers-in-Residence Fellowship, based in United Arab Emirates. It honours the late Nigerian Professor Tejumola Olaniyan and his remarkable legacy in the field of African literature. It is open to novelists, playwrights, poets, script writers, related to Africa and the African diaspora. It will be based in Sharjah, UAE for 3 months, allowing the applicants to complete their work, receiving a grant of 45,000 AED. They will have the opportunity to publish their texts through The Africa Institute’s publications programme.

Khoj / Goethe-Institut: 2024 Curatorial Intensive Programme for Curators from South Asia
CISA is a fully funded fellowship programme in the field of curatorial practices, relevant to South Asian visual arts. They are looking for 5 South Asian applicants who are in a career of curating. This includes people from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan, Afghanistan and Iran. It will be a month-long residency at Khoj, New Delhi, India from the 15th September to the 15th October, 2024. There will be a showcase in 2025. Travel and living expenses will be covered.

Zeitz MOCAA/UWC: 2025 Fellowship for African Museum Professionals
Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa and the University of the Western Cape have announced an open call for a year long fellowship programme, developed to educate a new generation of art and museum professionals in Africa. 7 applicants will be expected to participate in the ful 12 month study programme on a full time basis, from February 2025 to January 2026. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, this pan-African programme aims to nurture the growth of curatorial practice. The programme covers tuition, accommodation, basic health insurance and monthly fees. Travel and visa costs are not included. ONly the first 100 applicants will be considered for review.

British Art in Motion
This is a competition for undergraduate students who want to experiment with filmmaking as a research practice. They are searching for applicants who will offer new, engaging, creative and thought-provoking ways to interpret British art and architecture from all periods. British Art in Motion will provide a fully funded trip to London this summer, give you a production fund of £500 and provide guidance and mentorship. They will also give you the opportunity to see your film at a screening in Central London, with a prize of £1000 for the winning film.

Objectifs Documentary Award 2024 for Artists from Southeast Asia
Their mission is to broaden perspectives through imagemaking and support the voices of Singapore. The award will allow photographers to work on a new or existing project, with the focus on showcasing their native community. The outcome can be either still image or multimedia. There are 2 categories: The Open Category and the Emerging Category. The Open Category is awarded to one recipient from Southeast Asia. The recipient will work with curator Goh Sze Ying to curate and present a solo exhibition at Objectifs in May 2025, and 8,000 SGD will be awarded to work on a new or existing body of work. One finalist will also receive a grant of 1,000 SGD to continue their practice. The Emerging Category will be awarded to two recipients from Southeast Asia. Each recipient receives a six-month mentorship with Jessica Lim, Director of Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops, a presentation at Objectifs in May 2025, and 3,000 SGD to work on a new or existing body of work. One finalist will receive a grant of 500 SGD to continue their practice. Recipients will receive both professional and financial support to work on their project for 6 months, until their work will be exhibited in May 2025. If the recipient is not based in Singapore, they will receive financial support for budget flights and accommodation to attend the setting up of and opening of the exhibition and conduct an artist talk/presentation.

Grants
Indian Ocean Commission: Support for Cultural Events
The IOC is calling for applications for cultural events from organisations based in the Union of the Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles and Mozambique. The grant aims to support inter-island collaborations and promote access to regional markets. Eligible events include a fair, festival, competition, exhibition, conference, workshop and more. Priority will be given to the projects that promote the participation and inclusion of women. The event proposed cannot be less than 5 days or more than 30 days.

Toyota Foundation
They are calling for applications for collaborative projects from East Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia for their grant programme called ‘Cultivating Empathy Through Learning from Our Neighbours: Practitioners’ Exchange on Common Issues in Asia.’ The project can be one year long from Nov 24 - Oct 25 or two years from Nov 24 - Oct 26. It must identify issues and conduct a review by surveying and analysing the situation in target countries, carry out activities aimed at providing solutions and produce a tangible output. Team members could include those with practical experience and knowledge, such as practitioners, researchers, creators, policy makers and media representatives.

AFIELD Transitional Justice Grant 2024
AFIELD is looking for innovative ideas by artists and cultural workers that contribute to the process of transitional justice in diverse contexts.Transitional justice centres on individuals and communities within society who have endured severe human rights violations. AFIELD now invites artists of any discipline and cultural workers to submit applications with existing projects/initiatives or with implementable and viable ideas. They will distribute 4 grants of $10,000 USD.

Scholarships
Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts 2024, Scholarships for Students from Eastern Europe
Every year, around 300 students participate in this intensive workshop for 1-4 weeks, between 22nd July and 31 August this year, in Austria. They deal with topical questions of art production, directed by artists from all around the world. They award scholarships to students from the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine.
