Suboart Magazine

The Suboart Magazine are a publication focused on representing international art from emerging artists. This is an open call for artists to contribute to the print issues for May and June, 2024. This can include interviews and features. There is no application fee.

Stanley Arts: Day of the Dead Festival

The cultural exploration of death is a key part of our shared humanity. The Day of the Dead Festival will explore themes of death, rebirth and the afterlife. We are looking for proposals for a visual art exhibition, exploring the different cultural approaches to death throughout our diverse multi-faith world. This will receive support of £3,750 for exhibition costs and £2000 for curation fee. There is also opportunity to work on two new immersive theatre shows, staged across Stanley Arts unique Edwardian buildings, with £6000 in commissions.

TULCA Festival of Visual Arts is pleased to announce details of its 2024 Open Call curated by Michele Horrigan; The Salvage Agency. The 22nd edition of the festival will embed itself in multiple venues and locations throughout Galway City and County in November 2024, accompanied by an extensive public programme and publication. They welcome artistic proposals and artwork submissions that consider the agency and role of art in contemporary ecology and environmental study, and those that examine the underlying attitudes that have led to today’s critical and urgent impasse.

ARCA

Circular Berlin is partnering with a project, ARCA, AgendeR Circular Apparel, funded by the Creative Europe Programme and coordinated by Baumhaus (IT), Lantoki (ES) and Circular Berlin (BE). The project aims to approach fashion from an intersectional perspective and to make education and training in sustainable fashion accessible to all. They are looking for 3 emerging fashion designers from Bologna, Barcelona and Berlin to develop a sustainable capsule collection inspired by these cities, with mentoring and exhibition opportunities both online and offline.

Science Gallery Monterrey: Brave New Future

Science Gallery Monterrey, Mexico, is inviting artists, researchers, community activists and critical thinkers, to submit proposals for existing artistic and research projects to be part of their 2024 inaugural show, “Brave New Future.” It is a space where artistic and scientific modes of thinking are brought into a collision course to unbalance and stimulate each other, push the boundaries of knowledge and generate unexpected ideas that offer new perspectives and solutions to current challenges. They are taking applications in both English and Spanish.

Blurt: Sonic Experiments in Text

blurt is an experimental platform, supporting artists to develop text-based works for performance and live-to-air broadcast on RTM.FM. In this testing-site for text, TACO! invites artists to consider radio broadcast as an expanded form of publishing. They are seeking proposals for sonic experiments in text: aural encounters, vernacular enquiries, conversations, radio plays and other weird waves. They will support 4 artists or groups to develop work over April and May.

Workshop

Mind Your Own Masters

MYOM is a creative learning movement looking to tackle the ‘drop off’ between university and industry for those from less advantaged backgrounds. As part of their Open Cells Exhibition, they are holding a series of creative workshops at the Koppel Project, based in Hampstead, London. There are 6 workshops led by different creatives, all with a focus on upcycling material and sustainability. Network, learn and let your creative energy flow. With only limited spaces left, make sure to book before you lose it. All the profits made will go towards the MYOM final show.

Global Fashion Agenda: The Trailblazer Program

In collaboration with PDS Ventures, Global Fashion Agenda is launching a new programme to identify the most promising early stage innovators and to support them on their journey. The Trailblazer Programme is looking for applicants who are working to accelerate the transformation of the fashion and textile industry with planet positive solutions. One winning company will receive an equity investment of up to $200,000 in addition to commercial and operational support. Do you have a way to revolutionise the planet’s fashion industry?

The Arts Council, England is offering an opportunity, ‘Developing your Creative Practice’. It is a grant for individuals who want to focus their creative and cultural development. Applications are now open. If you are unlucky this time, don’t worry as they have 2 more rounds of funding planned for later this year, giving you another fighting chance.

This movement offers grants to artists , cultural professionals and hosts organisations in all European countries that work in architecture, heritage, design, music and more. With a focus on nurturing artists from around the world, it offers an amazing opportunity for 7 to 60 days.

Residency

Studio 10 Project Space

East Quay is looking to showcase the work of emerging artists to submit exhibition or installation proposals, following the theme of Climate and Change. Studio 10 is a multi-use project space which intends to create a connection with the local community. Contains Art CIO is offering to cover the exhibition’s expenses with £1,200 as well as support for accommodation and travel.

Immersive Assembly Vol 4: Dreams & Echoes

Mediale are hosting their annual talent development programme. They are inviting six early career UK-based digital artists and creators to participate in an innovative, collaborative work. It is a multi-disciplinary residency focusing on learning, peer critique and developing new ideas and collaborations in and around immersive art and technology. The residency will take place between May – November 2024, resulting in a showcase of the participants’ work. The artist fee is £4,000, to support your time. Accommodation, travel and per diem expenses for in-person sessions will be covered by the programme outside of this fee.
